This policy applies to visitors and account holders using the Globetrotting Kirks website and client portal. Globetrotting Kirks operates as a travel-advisory business affiliated with Fora Travel. Independent travel suppliers and other websites may have their own privacy practices.

We use information to respond to inquiries; provide travel-advisory services; prepare and manage trips and bookings; display your trips in the client portal; communicate travel updates, reminders and messages; operate live chat; administer subscriptions you request; prevent abuse and protect accounts; maintain and improve the website; and comply with applicable obligations.

We send marketing or blog updates when you subscribe or otherwise authorize them. You can unsubscribe using the link in a marketing email or contact us directly. Essential trip and account communications may continue while relevant.

The portal is intended for clients whose email addresses match client records maintained by Globetrotting Kirks. A first-time setup request may send an activation link to a matching email address without confirming publicly whether that address is on file. Once signed in, clients may see information associated with their trips, bookings and communications. Please keep your sign-in credentials private and contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access or notice inaccurate information.

We share information as reasonably necessary to deliver requested services. This may include Fora Travel, travel suppliers (such as cruise lines, hotels, tour operators and transportation providers), booking partners, and service providers that host the website, deliver email, manage mailing lists, or support website functions. Our website currently uses services including Render for hosting, Resend for transactional emails, and Mailchimp for certain newsletter signups. Those providers process information under their own terms and privacy notices.

We do not sell personal information as a business practice. We do not share your information with travel suppliers except as appropriate to discuss, arrange, or service travel you request or as otherwise authorized or required.

6. Photographs shared by clients

Clients may choose to upload photographs from their trips through the portal. Photos are stored with the associated trip and are visible to authorized travel advisors and clients with access to that trip. Uploading requires a separate affirmative acknowledgment authorizing Globetrotting Kirks to use the submitted photographs in promotional materials, including advertising and social media. We record the authorization text and time alongside the upload. Photos are not automatically published. Contact us if you have questions about an upload or wish to request that future promotional uses stop; previously distributed material may not always be retractable.

7. Cookies, analytics and browser storage

Essential cookies and storage: We use necessary session and security cookies to support account sign-in, protect forms, and operate the website. Local browser storage may also remember interface choices such as whether you dismissed a signup invitation. These features do not require consent to optional analytics.

Optional Google Analytics 4: If you choose “Accept analytics” in our cookie notice, Google Analytics may collect information about pages viewed, visits, approximate geographic area, device/browser type, referring websites, and engagement with the site. Your choice is saved in your browser's local storage, and you can reopen the cookie notice using “Cookie preferences” in the footer to change it. Rejecting analytics stops future analytics tracking from this website; it does not automatically erase data or cookies previously stored by Google. You can also clear browser cookies and site data in your browser settings. If you use another browser or device, you may be asked again.
